IronHorse is Prineville’s first and only master-planned community, developed on the site of a former working ranch at the foot of Barnes Butte. The neighborhood has a cohesive feel that is rare in smaller Central Oregon markets — consistent architectural character, maintained landscaping, a network of walking and biking trails, and genuine proximity to outdoor recreation.
Ochoco Pointe sits within the broader IronHorse Outline Development Plan and has been developed primarily by Pahlisch Homes since its original 2004 approval. The community is nearing its original build-out, which is why the recent City Council approval transferring remaining lots to Lennar is significant. The next phases will expand the neighborhood while maintaining its established character and design standards.
Barnes Butte Elementary School sits directly within the development — a genuine lifestyle amenity for families that eliminates the school commute entirely. The Barnes Butte Recreation Area, with hiking trails and views over Prineville and the Ochoco Mountains, is essentially your backyard.
